June 19 - 22; July 10 - 13, 2017. 9:00 am - 3:30 pm.
This camp is available to kids in grades 3-5.
Do you like to doodle or draw? Do you like to tell stories? If you answered yes to either or both of these questions, then this is the camp for you. In this camp, you will learn the basics of comic book creation, including parts of the comic book (panels, borders, gutters, splash pages, etc.), basic elements of drawing or composing with pictures (perspective, lighting, angles, etc.), and comic book writing (script writing, plot format, character creation, revision, etc.). During this time, working either alone or with a partner, you will create your own 1-4-page comic by the end of the week. This session is full day, so you should bring snacks and a lunch as well as appropriate footwear for walking around campus.
