This program is available to graduating high school seniors.

Are you planning on attending MSU? If so, you are invited to apply for a global, college transition seminar program. Typically, First-Year Seminars Abroad are short-term study abroad programs designed exclusively for recently graduated high school students attending MSU. In addition to the time spent abroad, all students participate in a campus orientation session and follow-up session when they return to campus in the Fall.

For most programs, students will spend 12 - 18 days in an international location and earn three MSU credits. While abroad, students will spend time studying an area of interest and participating in field experiences that extend the class discussions and readings into the program's location. Depending on the program, they might also participate in extended field experiences or cultural events that introduce the host country.

Programs run from mid-July through mid-August. Students should apply by late May/early-June. Participants must have completed the 12th grade, be admitted to MSU, and entering your first year of full-time college-level coursework to qualify.
